From Surviving to Thriving with Former NFL Athlete Seth Joyner
"WE LIVE IN A TEMPORAL WORLD."
This is the kind of Flourish or Fold Podcast episode that leaves ripples in my mind that keep expanding & expanding long after the conversation is done.
What really stuck with me was this simple yet utterly life-changing concept that our guest, an NFL Star, 3X Pro-Bowler, Super Bowl Champion, and NFL Analyst Seth Joyner shared. It's something that we all know, but we may not really know...ya know?
Life, circumstance, situations, everything is always changing. Always, always, always.
So when we dwell and get locked into a negative mindset, we do ourselves a massive disservice. Because whatever is triggering that negative thinking WILL change. It has to. Call it science, or philosophy, or faith, or whatever else you like.
Change is a fact, just like challenge is a fact. The question is, will you face change with resistance...or resilience?
On the episode, we talk about:
How sticking with football changed Seth’s life (9:25)
Why dreams and desires manifest at their own pace (16:50)
How he found ways to persevere when coaches didn’t believe in him (26:39)
What it means to be in the correct mindset (41:16)
How he cultivates this mindset (43:16)
How Seth went from surviving to thriving in the NFL (49:36)
